The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (Japanese: ゼルダの伝説時のオカリナ 3D Hepburn: Zeruda no Densetsu: Toki no Okarina 3D) is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo, with assistance by Grezzo, for the Nintendo 3DS handheld game console. The game was released worldwide in June 2011. A remaster of the 1998 Nintendo 64 title The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, it features mirrored versions of the rearranged dungeons from Ocarina of Time Master Quest, as well as updated graphics and added stereoscopic effects.
The remastering was highly acclaimed by critics, receiving perfect scores from over 20 publications, with some calling it one of the best remasterings of all time. It was also a commercial success, being the third 3DS game to hit the million mark in sales. As of September 2016, it is the eleventh best-selling Nintendo 3DS game, at over four million copies sold. The gameplay for the remastering is very similar to the original version, albeit with some modifications made to the game. One new feature is the use of the touch screen to switch out items, boots, and tunics. Also, the touch screen is used at times to play the Ocarina notes. The Stone of Agony from the original version of the game is replaced with the Shard of Agony, which serves the same purpose, only with a sound signal to inform the players of secrets nearby. This is because there is no equivalent to the rumble feature on the 3DS.
